The IoT is beginning to revolutionize certain operations that may have been less than ideal for some organizations in the past, but can now provide insights that were almost impossible to track until recently.

Marketo (a marketing automation vendor) released an infographic on the marketing power of the Internet of Things back in 2015 and while a bit dated, it still does a good job of describing what we can expect.

In short, IoT presents realtime opportunities for organizations of all sizes to gain better customer insights, engagement and services.
